We do not currently have funding available to support new postdoctoral scholars. We are, however, happy to work with prospective candidates interested in pursuing independent fellowship opportunities and encourage you to reach out to discuss potential projects.
Current Northwestern students: Please email Dr. Volpatti to discuss potential rotation opportunities.
Prospective students: The Volpatti Lab anticipates recruiting graduate students for Fall 2026 and Fall 2027. Admissions for both PhD and MS programs are conducted centrally through the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) or Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE).
If you are an undergraduate student interested in conducting research in the Volpatti Lab, please fill out this form.
Northwestern students: Opportunities are available to conduct research for credit. Students may also apply for research funding through Northwestern, the McCormick School of Engineering, the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute, the Center for Synthetic Biology, and the International Institute for Nanotechnology. Please complete this form to indicate your interest. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, and students will be contacted as positions become available.
External students: For non-Northwestern students interested in conducting research over the summer, we encourage you to complete this form and apply to programs such as the Center for Synthetic Biology SynBREU, the International Institute for Nanotechnology REU, and the Summer Research Opportunities Program.
While we are unable to host high school students directly in the lab, we encourage interested students to explore structured opportunities at Northwestern, such as the Northwestern University Research Program for High Schoolers and the Center for Talent Development.
